Free Anti Virus

Hello! Does anyone know a good free anti virus programme, Norton has run out and I don't want to pay. I have been old Avast is good...but what does one reccommend?!

the microsoft beta is for spyware.
personally, i think viruses are serious enough to pay $50 a year for a good subscritption service.

yeah, for pc grisoft avg, spybot search and destroy and ad-aware... and firefox as main browser... i don't have any problems with virii or spyware.

no need to worry creating a virus for only 1% of computer population. Maybe when MACs reach 5 or 10% maybe... but till then...
