Anyone familar or been to this EPIC Austrian downhill?
Heard its a huge party and Kitzbuhel goes off. Thinking about going this year before B. Miller and D. Rahlves retire.
Can anyone familar with this give me some good ideas bout where to stay/traveling in Austria?

Yeah, been there twice during Hannenkahm, it's awesome if you're in for the parties but pretty busy at the time if you're looking into hitting nice slopes.
I would suggest staying slightly outside Kitzbuhel, the prices skyrocket during this event plus it's probably sold out almost everywhere already.

There are buses you can ride for free (on the ski pass) all around tirol which is the best transportation around the area, and taxi is pretty cheap. I wouldn't drive myself because there's nowhere to park when events are going on (1920s infrastructure) and there's a 0 limit on alcohol and driving so if you get caught behind the wheel after a tall one you get locked up badly.
Everything doesn't have to be sold out in central kitzbuhel, I dont know but people tend to book months in advance in my experience.. I would guess average for a city center two-bed'er is like $200 per night

The only thing that's remotely Austrian and run downhill is my grandaddy's poo. Sometimes he let's it go during Sunday dinner.
