I got a problem getting a flv file to play from a clients server, no problems when testing on my own.
Is there some servers that dont support flv files?

Is the SWF loading the FLV on the same server? If not, then that might be the problem because flash doesn't allow stuff to be loaded from other servers.

no it is a swf in the same folder that Im trying to loading from.

what version of flash player. There was some talk about this the other day and it seems to work in flash 8, otherwise you may need a flash comm server.
I may have this all mixed up.

its a flash 7 file. and I dont want to make it a 8 file.

Then you may want to find out about that flash communication server issue.

its probably a cross domain issue. search for it in flash's help docs. you need to stick a code like "System.security.allowDomain(_ur... in the first line/frame of the swf file

you dont need flash comm to progressively downlaod an flv but you do to stream it.
the cross domain policy is also worth looking at. very simple xml file you place on the server dishing up the flv or swf

ask your hosting company to register its mime type. I have had this problem in the past.
and watch cross domains.
newstoday.com
and
www.newstoday.comflash considers those different domains. So do a response.redirect to www.newstoday.com if server variable has http://newstoday.com on your pages that contain flash.

this was the solution:
Tip: To load FLV files from a web server, you might need to register the file extension and MIME type with your web server; check your web server documentation. The MIME type for FLV files is video/x-flv.
