Jurassic Park was a great movie no doubt, but king kong is just going to be a hyped movie and suck at the end.

Peter Jackson knows what he's doing. He started in gory horror movies, and King Kong will follow in the footsteps of the last LOTR movie and deliver. You know he learned a lot from making those movies.
The special effects will not drive the movie either. The story is too timeless and Adrian Brody and Naomi Watts are experienced actors.
It will be amazing. book it.

my real gripe is with the trend over the past few years to make unoriginal films, remakes of old movies, sitcoms, fucking comic books and the latest disgusting trend... video games.
so god damned unoriginal.
as for my comment about star wars... i know a lot of you love those damned movies. I was a big fan of the first couple... because i was 3. I went to see the "re-release" (again, terribly unoriginal and quite frankly just a scam to get our money, which they did) and I couldn't believe how horrible the movie was. The story was simply moronic.

Naomi Watts is one of my favourite actresses and I know that Adrien Brody can be quite good, so I'm hoping that the acting does more than the special effects here. Probably won't be the case, but it'll make the film so much better if it's not driven by special effects, which is the mistake that Lucas made with his last three Star Wars films. And judging by how Jackson thinks the future of film is only going to rely mainly on these effects, there could be some hesitation there.
Still, I'm hoping that the story is actually good too. Special effects alone won't do anything, whether or not they are 'new'.
