Naomi Watts is one of my favourite actresses and I know that Adrien Brody can be quite good, so I'm hoping that the acting does more than the special effects here. Probably won't be the case, but it'll make the film so much better if it's not driven by special effects, which is the mistake that Lucas made with his last three Star Wars films. And judging by how Jackson thinks the future of film is only going to rely mainly on these effects, there could be some hesitation there.
Still, I'm hoping that the story is actually good too. Special effects alone won't do anything, whether or not they are 'new'.
