I came to work today and all my defined sites in Dreamweaver are gone. Noone used the computer since I last used it. Anyone know why that would happen and what is the best way to restore them?

What version of DW? I know MX had a bug with that... happened to me a few times before I upgraded.

It's MX 6.0.

i don't think you can restore them once they are gone.
it's good practice to back up the site registry.
do a google search for more info.

make sure the techies havent been messing around with your user profile on tha server or yr local machine.

I haven't found much on google. I did see where it is recommended to back up the site registry. I don't know much about PCs so I will have to read into that further.
Tech support modifying my profile sounds very possible.

This won't help now but for future reference.
Go to run on the start menu, type/use ‘regedit’ navigate to the ‘Software’ directory and then to the Dreamweaver MX 2004 directory, you should find a folder in there called ‘sites’, right click on it and choose ‘Export’, Job’s a goodun.

I don't seem to have a software directory. BTW, why would you export from there if DW has an export button on the site manager (which I failed to use)?

If you are runnning MX 6.0, find the 6.1 update. That was supposed to fix that problem.

... or upgrade to the new version 8 for $199 as it's FAR superior and better to use. Better CSS support, cleaner code writing/formatting etc.

Exporting the Site data really, really'll help things out in the future...
