hey have you ever been druged while designing? do that make a big difference?

Yes. Big difference. I generally find something much better to do.

grass always makes my imagination charge into overtime and it takes ages for me to get to sleep if ive had a smoke of grass cos loads of ideas just fly about randomly around my head.
came up with a LOT of good stuff while stoned.

aye mebbe it gives you the ideas konspiracy, but it detracts from the ability to carry them out.

is it like an addiction? you wont have great ideas unless your stoned?
like going to a rave take drugs and then go again and dont take its not the same.....youre always thinking "its better with drugs"!

I once envisaged the perfect web page (back in the days of hyper extruded polygons) whilst deep in a ketamine-fueled coma.
But otherwise, I find better things to do with my time. Weed's a bit of a productivity killer too, sadly.

I'm off my head on mind bending cannabis spliffs...
Anyway, I don't really smoke any more but I find it helps if you've got a big job to do because you reach the point where you can't be arsed to get up from in front of your machine so you get more done. Never ever at work though.

to comment on the title of this thread, surely it is more about drugs in designers than drugs in designs?

i have smoke weed and didnt like it. i have take x for parties only.... never have try designing, so thats why asked!

I've tried it whilst mucking about with photoshop at home a coupla times... generally the results aren't that great... sometimes you come up with funny ideas, but they're only really funny to you...
Weed can give you the tenacity to not give up when working out something complex, but then you wonder, would it be easier if I was straight? Probably.

I tried designing a webpage in a field with a sketchpad and a skin full of magic mushrooms. I devised a system of navigation that worked with the stars, and drew a 14th century spanish sailor. So no.
