i need to figure out the best way to do blur in flash.
whats the best way for blurring text?

since most sites won't accept Flash 8 content yet, you can create an identical image of the the text, blur it and cross fade the Flash text with the image in the same place.
You'll have to create a png with an alpha channel unless your type is on a backround of solid color.

I wouldn't dev in Flash 8 (yet), average joe browser doesnt have it (yet)... just for the sake of blurred text (which is already being overused due to its easy production in Flash 8)...
You gotta be quick these days... and yet, if you are.... no one has the plugin.
The web is rubbish.
Stick with your blurred PNGs. Safe.

I was joking when I wrote Flash8.
Im also not using it yet, you gotta develop sites that people got the player 4.Png is the best solution.
