Does anyone any have comments or opinions on how to improve this site?
It is meant to be very simple, black text on white bg, just to display the work. I will be making some small improvements anyway but I wanted to get some others opinions.

Yeah, it works.
Just nitpicking here...
1. I don't like how the photo repeats in the Artist Statement & Bio pages.
2. That jusified text isn't working, lots of rivers.

I like that simple look to show those not simple paintings.
Maybe try placing some 1 px lines to break up the menu!?

Thanks everyone. The work is huge and intricate so showing them on the web really doesn't do them justice. I will have some more close up and scale images added soon.
I may make some small changes like changing the main nav text to images. I don't think I like how the the title of the Artist's statement is repeated right next to the same word in the nav. I am just nitpicking now though. Most of the work was in the CSS and making the whole site one dynamic page and all the work coming from a database.
I tried to make the images all small enough so that you didn't have to scroll at 1024 because IMO it is annoying to have to scroll on and off to see half the work.
I would love to hear any other opinions.

It is a very simple, but well-organized site. If you wanted to make the site more visually expressive, I'm sure you could experiment with things like adding a border, maybe mixing up the type a little bit so that it's not all pixelated Verdana, playing around with type colors, link colors, etc. But I'm sure you knew that already.
