Im gonna try to explain this the best i can...Im trying to manipulate a piece of text in illustrator. basically im trying to put a concave (pushing the text up)curve on the bottom of a title but keeping the top and side of the text straight. Ive used the wrp tool without success but i feel theyre gotta be a way using the bevel tool to bend in the bottom of the text without messing with the rest of the txt! im hoping this makes sense. Im on ill 10...would cs be my answer? any help would be great...I see this effect on movie poster quite a bit!
thanks in advance

i can't remember the features in ai10...
CS & CS2 have a bunch of tools under Effects/ Warp.. like Arc Lower, Arc Upper...
they'll do what i think you are describing.

Object > Envelope Distort > Make with top object...
This is what you want, if you don't know how to use it search for envelope distort in Help.

you can also use saintWalkers technique with > make with warp (to get you started)
from there you can tweak the control points to your hearts content.
