if you're just looking to hire a DVD, try "In my Father Den", not by any means my fave movie, but it's decent, it's not American and it's out now. Which just about puts in a bracket all on it's own...

I strongly recommend Nine Queens, argentinian gangster flick. Except this gangster film has no guns, blood or drugs. Just a set of highly valuable stamps and a psycho drama that is so beautifully lacking in cliches it's a must see.
