hey jackass, when's your first appearance on art bell?
- mrdobolina0
discipler, how are you so sure that it is because of an intelligent designer and not just 'the way things are'?
Just because you can't explain it or comprehend it, god musta made it?
- discipler0
well, because of the nature and inner workings of this complexity, dobs. Because "the way things are" has no mechanism or power to produce this complexity and information (as in DNA) on the molecular level. Whenever we see this type of machinery and information, we always attribute an intelligent entity. It's a logical inference from the evidence.
- mrdobolina0
it cannot be science, because you alrady have defined the end of it, you know what I mean?

(Oct 13 05, 08:17)but that is false. COMPLEXITY CAN EASILY be generated from simplisity.
Do i have to post the life game again???
- discipler0
way back when, William Paley used his watchmaker illustration to demonstrate how there must be an author to all of this design. And not only an author, but a purposeful author. And now, with advances in biochemistry and physics, we can say with confidence that this is the case.

Let me guess. This thread is still going nowhere?
- mrdobolina0
it does not prove anything, discipler.
proof would be proof of god and you cannot prove god.
- pavlovs_dog0
ima start a better one...
- discipler0
it's not just complexity, it's irreducible and specified complexity. Although i've explained this numerous times, let me have another go at it...
What biochemists have discovered is that what Darwin thought was a blob of gelatin is really an impossibly complex information center with machinery far beyond anything humans have produced. The kicker is this: if you remove any one component from these irreducibly complex systems (e.g.: the cell, the bacteria flagellum, the blood clotting mechanism) the system totally fails. What this demonstrates is that these systems require completely functional parts and they require them all at once. Darwins proposed mechanism of natural selection would prevent these systems from ever occuring. And Darwin's mechanism is the only alternative to a cognizant designing entity.

irreducible complexity is bullshuit
it assumes a specfic outcome in the minds of the id lunatic fringe
- Mimio0
If you were to listen to discipler, you'd think there was no debate. He'd have you think that science, although flawed as a discipline in his estimation, has proven that God exists and created everything in accordance to the biblical tale.
What kind of person elevates conjecture, opinion, and mythology to the level of fact?
- mrdobolina0
just because it is complex does not prove a creator. it just doesnt.
you want to believe it soooooo much that you have tricked yourself into it.
- discipler0
nice one, pavlov.
*jabs plastic forks into temples.
- pavlovs_dog0
irreducible complexity is bullshit.
irreducible complexity is bullshit.

irreducible complexity is bullshit.lshit.

dude, most religious whackos just ignor fact and go with feel is right. you might as well do the same.
- discipler0
mimio, it's a logical inference to attribute these systems to design when there is no natural mechanism that can produce them. So, until science provides a sufficient explanation involving some other process that does not require intelligence... it makes sense.
ID does not say the designer is God, it simply follows the evidence.
ID is science with an open mind.
- pavlovs_dog0
my type funny cuz i at wrk doing six things
gah
- discipler0
hehe, you're silly pavlov.
