Apple vs. PC
The safe assumption is that the majority of people posting on this site are designers of some sort.
Without fussing with details, the mac is simply an object more concerned with the end-user experience. And that is very appealing to me. I don't want to be aware of the tool, it should be refined to the point of transparency. Apple has been very successful at this in both their OS and their physical containers.
PC's are capable machines. But they have not achieved the simple elegence of a Mac, or been successful in paying careful attention to the end-user experience.
