I disagree.

I see a lot of new sites using this faux 3D space effect for navigation. Anyone know anything about this? Tutorials? FLA's? Interesting....

Nice flash site
www.manhattanloft.co.u...that site sucks, covering up arch images with annoying over stylized swiss typography

I like the pencil thing. Designers Republic never really did it for me. And they really haven't changed much since the 90s.

phatlee "I agree on the first account. Looks cool, but got bored in 10 seconds. Could be cool, sometime I'll go back....I guess.
That other site is pretty bad, imho. Too bright, text is very difficult to read. I agree that the Designers Republic never did anything for me.

The Leo Burnett site works for me as it's sympathetic to the subject matter and does the job of showcasing work by a successful ad agency.
The site by TDR could have been made for any old client and it would have looked the same. Don't get me wrong, TDR do some great work, and they really paved the way for many sites we see posted here, but it all looks the same to me and I get bored quickly.

The Leo Burnett site works well, but I think the over stylised navigation becomes an incumbrance, making it diifiuclt to look around the site.
I think this is a better example of a similar nav style, using flash that fills the window...

Designers Republic need to move on - it's all beginnning to look a bit painfully 90s. We don't listen to PWEI anymore, so why look at their visual equivalent...?
