OK, I'm sick and tired of al lthese sites that are just linking to other sites because wow, they are using CSS. Stylegala is particularly guilty of it - find whatever stupid site possible - "a blog from Indonesia on fly fishing!! Now all CSS!!" - and proudly proclaim they're all standard compliant CSS, etc...
Especially just bounced from there and they announced that Salon has redesigned. So I just went to check out the new "CSS, standard compliant" Salon.com and think it just out and out sucks. It's a horrible redesign - not saying the previous design was great shakes but this new design tanks. So, I'm sick of celebrating something just because you know it's all "CSS" regardless of the design and usability...OK, I'm done...

Ick. salon.com looks terrible. Can't remember what it looked like before, never went there.
I think that there may be a particular style associated with CSS layout that has been very popluar. The 2 column, centered look like many of the Zen Garden sites is what I think of instantly.
salon.com, good or bad, at least shows that CSS is being used to replace a table based HTML layout. In a way, that's nice to see. People are figuring out how to tweak CSS to perfectly duplicate tables.
Personally, I like simplicity of it without going overboard.
