gun owners on average must be more responsible than you give them credit for because as you say guns shoot
maybe its other crime, such as theft that has given guns such a bad image. a car driven by someone responible and educated on car safety can go faster and perform better than if driven by a novice. the same goes for the operation of a gun

I know they exist... alot of scarry stuff in this world exists. I just don't believe weapons are the solution, or better yet, that most guns owners indeed buy them for that real reason- it's more showmen ship than anything else.
How many here have already stopped someone from slitting your throats by flashing your weapon? Now how many here have pictures of their weapon, have polished it, and taken it apart to admire the craftsmanship?
