Well i know that this has been asked a million times but since we can't search the PVN for things, I have to ask m'self.
I'm teaching myself InDesign and there is one thing that remains a mystery to me... what the heck do the measurements compare to.. ie: 3p0
how do these relate to inches or centimeters, and should i be concerned about that? I just don't know how they work. Thanks very much for any answers!

they are points.
If you just type "in" for inches after your measurement it will do the conversion for you.

In prefs you can make the measurements what you want them to be, IE: inches, cm, mm or points.
Is that what you were asking?
I'm also a recent switcher (by extreme force & work requirements) to InDesign from 10 years in Quark.

that is for measuring in picas.
if you prefer an alternate unit of measurement, change it in the preferences.
