capital one?
remember that every time you apply for one, you get points away from your credit.

do not get any credit cards except amex that you HAVE to pay monthly...in full...
- doesnotexist0
yes, always pay your full amount every month.
if you cant, split it between two months as RARELY as possible.

29 learned the hard way that living off your cards when you are not working is the worst thing to do...you are better off asking friends and parents for help

it costs 200£ to go bankrupt at your local county court hehe

get a card with a small limit... like 500 bucks...
you can buy most shit you want on that.. ebay etc... and build your credit rating...
500 is pretty easy to pay down too.

I have heard that if you have some CC debt its good to go to the bank and talk to them and work out a deal/plan to really lowerdebt. is this true?

the only time a bank is nice to you is went you owe them 20k and know they aint gonna get it back,
on requested visits to the bank manager after a few months of avoidance and non payments, say your parents are in switzerland or south africa on business and that you dont want to bother them while on a business-cum-holiday trip, always works
when they think they have cornered you, bring out the trump card, "well if i dont get this money out of the bank, i will prolly have to give up living away from my parents and will prolly get into a lot of depression thus leaving work and not affording to paying it back, i have been suggested by the debt advice line to go bankrupt, so i really need that increase in overdraft ^^" cant fail brother hehe

on a serious note - use cash unless its online, credit cards impress foreign girls and the 16 year-old spotty freak working in gap but it will screw you over in the end, after all thats how banks make record breaking bonuses year after year.
remember 500£ of debt aint gonna make you look good in court but 190,000£ will :P
live like to the max, pepsi-style

try to get one from REI, the outdoors retailer. good rewards if you are a member....
but i agree with Capital One, it was my first and got me started on credit creation.

hahahaha
Capital One are the only company that would give me one here...as I have no credit in this country - even though my credit in the UK was perfect...and they set a $500 limit on it. I always keep a hundred or so on it...and I use and pay for what I use every month.
Hopefully soon they will raise my limit so that I can actually use it properly!

you need to get one. it's important to build a credit history. otherwise, when you wanna buy a house or something big, no banks will give you a loan.
build a good credit history. american express is good because you have to pay full every month.
i have citi bank diamond prefered. i get points and can use it toward travel and hotels. also you can automated payment full amount set so you always pay off.
