Hiked 16 miles yesterday in Kolob Canyons up in Zion in Southern UT. That was probably the longest I've ever consecutively travelled on foot at one time. It was crazy. Just so nice to get out of this Vegas dust hole and go somwhere where there are creeks and grass and trees. Got the dog shit scared out of me by a rattlesnake; it was about 6 inches from my hand and chest as I started to scurry up a pile of rocks. Needless to say I jumped about 6 feet straight back immediately. So happy that rattlesnakes are fairly passive and will give you warning before they decide to wreck your world.
Anyway, hands down a wonderful trip. I recommend that everyone get out of the house and enjoy the outdoors one last time before winter comes and all you extremers strap on the boards and skis and hit the powder.

Sweet ass! I love Zion, spent the summer after h.s. working and climbing in the park. Lots of big wall routes and deep technical narrows. Love that shit.
That's truely living.

What part of Utah did you grow up in unclesize? I was up in Logan for 3 years playing ball and finishing up school.
Also, that pic of you in those narrows; is that the Narrows inside of Zion or is that somewhere else?

i wanna go survival camping for a week.
nice pics guys!

Yeah the narrows are in Zion, they are called Pine Creek Narrows. Def my favorite narrows in the park. Since ropes, harnesses and ascenders are required, it keeps the tourists out.
I went to H.S. in Utah Valley, Mountain View and college at the University of Utah. Did you live in Utah for a time?

Ok since you know Logan, did you ever climb in Logan canyon? Or go to the cave? Spent some time there as my bro went to USU. Fun little college town!

(Oct 2 05, 14:28)W-O-R-D!
I just hiked Little Wild Horse Canyon in Captial Reef Utah (9 mile slot canyon) 2 weeks ago during a full moon and it was beyond words...not down with the snakes either....ahh!

Logan, UT was interesting place. Beautiful up there. It was a college town that cared less if the college was there or not. But tubing down Old Main Hill in the winter was wonderful. I never made it to the cave up in the canyon; I was just getting into hiking right before I moved back to Vegas. 3 years in Logan and I never went to bear lake, Park City, Zion, Wyoming or anything. I was really lazy once I was done playing ball...
I should have pics posted sometime before the end of the year :p
