if all this is true, can I have the number for fucking tech support please?
- discipler0
greedo, no. God is not "messing" with anything. I.D. posits simply that design can be detected in biological systems. The evidence would suggest that the designer "programmed" things to unfold a certain way.

i think what we're really seeing is the human tendency to see patterns in chaos.

discipler, prove to me that god is not a man on a throne but a spiritual entity for us, what facts do you base this assumption on?
- discipler0
Wherever true free will is, there is the propensity for free will to make the wrong decision(s). For the designer to have made a system completely incapable of "flaws" (as you and I comprehend apparent "flaws"), then it would remove free will and we would be robots incapable of making true free choices... even bad ones.

greedo, when you peer inside the cell, or a strand of DNA... you see engineered design and digital information. 1. Every example of engineered design and information we observe, has a cognizant designer as it's author. So it's a logical inference to apply it to molecular life. 2. There is no unguided naturalistic mechanims which can or ever has, produced information and engineered machines.

America if fun-nye!
- discipler0
mrdobs, you have the fact that life at it's core, is information and complex machinery and therefore requires a designer. Then, you look around and realize that there is no human technology that can produce this. Therefore, it's safe for you to conclude that a higher intelligence authored life.
And then you shake off false historic caricatures of God being a big bearded grandfather sitting on a marble throne.

answer the fucking question, slippery steve.
- discipler0
unfit, one of the most compelling scientific defenses of I.D. was just published in the U.K. by an english author.
The science is global.
- unfittoprint0
actually
the first portrait of a
bearded hebrew god
where inspired on the remains of
the statue of Zeus of Olympia's temple
that were brought to Istambul.
Religious Xchange is Fun!
- GreedoLives0
but the basic premise remains:
this is complex, therefore someone else did itand no amount of 'science' can prove that, ever.
so here we are in theologyville.
- mrdobolina0
is believing in a god science or faith?
the root of your belief is faith
- gruntt0
couldn't you all save a little time by just reading the old ID thread?
- mrdobolina0
i dig the exchange gruntt.
- gruntt0
NT is made up mostly of designers. Any one that posts in this thread (after this response - of course) are not intelligent designers.
=)
- mrdobolina0
only god is the intelligent designer, we are all sinners.
- discipler0
no greedo. The premise is this complexity irreducible and there's no unguided mindless mechanism which can produce this. None. Therefore the only alternative is intelligence, just like we see in other engineered systems. And, when you combine this with the numerous other facts outside of the molecular realm, you have an even more cogent case for a designer.
This is science, not theology.
- discipler0
mrdobs, your antagonistic and illogical in your approach. I'm ignoring you.
- gruntt0
i know mrdob. i'm just talkin' smack.
y'all have fun.
i'll drop in once this thread hit's 100 and drop off some sandwiches.
=)
