Will be in soho and greenwich village tomorrow morning with a couple kids age 3. Can anyone recommend a good breakfast spot not too far from a subway station?

Area around bleecker and macdougal has about 10 cafes, and the A train is right around the corner

Shopsin's - a village tradition.
corner of carmine and morton (off the west 4th stop).Pink Teacup - southern specialities off bleecker and barrow [?] (1,9 or 2,3)
Grange Hall - big brunch next to cherry lane theatre barrow (1.9 or 2,3)
Chumley's right down the street from Grange Hall on bedford. Old speak-easy from the age of prohibition. 86 Bedford...just walk in the door. You won't know to do anything else...it was a speak-easy after all and there is no sign. (1,9 or 2, 3).

Thanks for the input. I, too, heard good things about Balthazar but ended up going here with several friends and was pleasantly impressed:

There's a new place on 6th Ave. between 11th and 12th near Ricky's called Shorty's It's never crowded, which is a plus for the kids. I'm not sure how early it's open. If you can't get in there, there's French Roast on 10th. It's open 24 hours.

I've already left. I was there from last Monday through yesterday. My son's first trip to NYC. Had a great time, though the weather was still a bit muggy.
