OK, my day job is an interactive designer for a large corp. Sucks, but pays the bills while my wife is in school.
So today I need some support from Adobe as I am having Premiere issues. I call to PAY for support mind you, and they refuse to sell me support since I don't have the serial number. Well since I am in a huge corp. all software is installed via the network, and I never see the password. So I hang up and I call around for 30 min to various tech supports and no one can give it to me. So I call Adobe back and explain the situation, even get a manager on the phone and they flat out refuse to sell me the support.
Adobe is getting as bad as Quark.
At least now I get to leave early and go home and do the work on my Mac in Final Cut so that makes me happy.

well good news is they're buying MM and they want to be more customer-oriented like MM.
hopefully you'll get the support you need in....a few months?
haha.

I'm waiting for the day when to get any support you need to send in a liter of your own blood.

seriously though if you work in a large corporation, adobe SHOULD have your company name, primary contact, and serial number in their DB.
the trick is make sure you have the authorization to buy support - if not, find out who this primary contact at your company is. makes things easier.

Man, I went through all of that, and nothing.
I have a corporate card and I was begging to pay them for help, and they simply said,
NO SOUP FOR YOU!

That is exactly what I will be using when I get home. Hell, I'd take iMovie over Premiere.

I have a similar problem. My company has an Adobe product with no serial number and I cant find out who purchased it even after checking though all the usual channels. Basically they have no record of anyone in the company so I am stuck with a program that I can't use.

(Sep 22 05, 11:53)I am pretty sure you can send the old one in and Adobe will provide a new copy with a serial #
We lost a serial number around my office once and they just sent us a fresh copy and kindly asked that we throw away the old one.

Unless I have to capture video, After Effects blows Premiere away. Final Cut too, for the most part.

just do what you said you were going to... go home and use final cut... 10x the management and useability... screw premier - makes my life HELL.... each time I open it - I wish I had a Mac so I could use Final Cut.
