I sent this artwork for a flyer to the printers last week to be delivered at my client midday yesterday. I call him at about ten in the morning to make sure everything is ok and he says that he forgotten about it. I mean - can you actually say that? to a client? that you forgot? Even if I did forget somebody's work -which I don't- I would make up an excuse or something. Not only it is insulting to me, it makes him look like complete idiot!!!!!
Anyway, the guy pulls out or the stops and get the thing straight on to the press and delivers the flyers late in the afternoon. My client calls me and says "They look awful". By the time I get there to see for myself it's late so the printer has closed so I spent all night worrying about it. I'm expecting another big job out of the same client and this makes me look very bad.
So I call him today and the guy says that he thinks the flyers are ok when they look as if he printed them using his arse!!! I ask him "what went wrong? The digital proof is much better than this" to which he replies "I don't know, I exported a jpeg from your inDesign file and printed them with corel draw 'cause I didn't know how to print through inDesign, it should be fine"
Is it just me??????????????
or is this guy... (sigh) I don't know...
Printer= minus one client

The thing is that I printed a few things with him in the past and they came back fine. And now I wonder how? how did he manage it? There's no way that the person that thinks InDesign jpeg export and Corel "should be fine" could do anything right, right?
The world is a mystery

Omg, he sounds worse than Kinkos. And kinkos makes me want to cry.
How is this guy a professional printer?
- i_monk0
We had a printer - picked by the client, because of some pre-existing professional relationship - print up window covering posters for a store that was being renovated. He decided on his own they really should stick on the outside of the windows, apparently so people could peel them off and draw moustaches and whatever.
