That would be ill, I'm looking for a used (good condition) Canon for around $1200 that does burst of no less then 9. I'm scared of ebay, a friend got yanked for 1500 for a camera a few weeks ago.

20D will do 5 fps up to 23 (or 25 with a good card). You should consider it.

I have a Canon digital rebel (6.3)
I'm thinking about selling,(make offer) in flawless condition, I have to get the D10 for sequence shots for skate/snow.
the 6.3 only bursts 4 shots, D10 is 9 or 12.....

If you can't afford it the 350D is the answer. It's affordable, and carries the sensor and processor technology.
The results will be virtually identical to the 20D.
Where you miss out is the magnesium alloy body, some extra features, and a bit of performance.

Yes, the 20D is insane-o, but also quite expensive. If you can afford it, go for it! And yes, Nikon's answer will come soon...can't wait to see what they develop?!?

When you're purchasing a DSLR, the two most important things to consider are sensor and processor technology, and Canon has the best of both.
Canons CMOS technology coupled with an excellent low pass filter and the DIGIC II can not be bested.
The EOS 20D performance standards are unsurpassed in it's category. Nikon does not have a match for the 20D, YET.
However, I'm willing to bet Nikon will have an announcement to make in the very near future, and it will be worth taking note of.
I don't like that Nikon uses Sony sensors. I think to really make their presence felt, they will have to start developing their own sensor technology.

If it weren't pentax, I'd get the new minolta D5. Nightshooters know AS is hard to beat.

Nikon D70!!!!!
I bought it at Ritz Camera and suggest buying it with the Nikon lens kit...that lens is $200 with the kit, $400 separately and the glass is better than any other lens you're gonna find for it. The camera takes incredible photos on its own, and it's very easy to use and learn on. Can't say enough about it, really.

My pentax *istDS just arrived in California and will be smuggled to Europe by a friend on Friday ($560 vs. €800, come on! )
No other dslr supports so many manual lenses back to the 70's, with pentax and M42 mount. It measures light with them and even gives focus confirmation! It's gonna be fun.

This is a very cool site. I've been reading a lot of good articles, and they are very well done.

I just got a Nikon D50 and the photo quality it captures is fantastic. The build quality is ace for the price too (although a friend bought mine from Taiwan for me so it was cheap!). Great camera for someone new to Digital SLRs... like me.
