Looking for some crit on something I am working at atm:
The client liked this direction:
But wanted cleaner...much cleaner..which is fine cos that's my steez.
I think you'll find the click through fairly straight forward.
The flow that is set up shows a user going into projects from the home page - selecting an image - using the drop down (bottom right) menu to go to another project - then going to the 'About' page.
Comments on general appearance/type/images/usability etc etc appreciated...

hey - that's moved along mate.
i like it heaps.
not sure about rotis as a font choice though?
maybe a modern slab serif?
- jevad0
ah you no likee rotis? Think it works quite well here - different enough to stand out but not be overbearing....
cheers chap!

not that i dont like it, and i agree, it works in your design, it's just been used a lot, in my opinion.
what about trade gothic or something clean like it?
i think you're on the right track though mate. better than the green the other week.
- weirdel0
i kinda prefer the simplicity in the first one. both in flash?

Hey, This is looking much better. I like it ... only thing is some of the links are too feint when knocked back. Its too hard to read. Thats all :)
- driftlab0
oh man, i wish they'd have chosen the one with the wood bg. Both look great, but I really dig that one. Anyway, nice color palette. Looking forward to seeing the final.
- jevad0
cheers lads - anyone else?
- tkmeister0
nice, clean. i like it. the blue is pretty settle and not overwhelming. the focus is on the photos.
i think i am gonna steal your design and use it for my client :P

i can see why the client prefers the wood background, although i am in your camp when it comes to simplicity.
the clients choice is much more of the safer side with the wood background i still think you can have fun with it and do some clever flash work.
the faded out images on the first comp make it a bit more challenge in terms of what to click on next, while the second follows more web standard practices
IMO it's not easy either way because your working with architects and they tend to be know-it-alls-and they love lines.
to tell you the truth, you have designed them thoughtfully and it shows your grace with design. i think they are both winners...

really like it man. very clean and perfect color scheme. the only part i didn't care for is the transparent/lightened wood under the text in the bottom left hand box. looks blurry. everything else is ace!
- jevad0
Thanks robo - but its the other way around - the first link is the design she's gone for
- robotron3k0
oooh, nice, even better! the most important thing is she likes it!
now on to the next project!

even tho you've stayed in the lines i can't give you 10 out of 10 as you haven't used all the colours.
* runs calling himself a stupid c**t
- jevad0
um...whu?

first one is nice and clean, although the comment about not knowing what to click on next is a bit valid. there are lots of subtle fades which makes it pleasant but may become difficult to navigate.
nice and clean, as always :)
- jevad0
"there are lots of subtle fades which makes it pleasant but may become difficult to navigate."
Yep - will have to bring them up I think...
thanks!

hey there's some lorem ipsum text in there, which reminds me of the time last year when i presented such a thing and was asked to not make mock-ups in spanish!
hahahahaha!

jevad,
I like the one the client picked, but those rounded buttons at the top... Ick!
Would look better rectangular, and the same height as the "Andrea Vaughn" name, also aligned with the name.
I love stuff like that, love when my eyes can detect all the alignments, I feel like Russell Crowe in that math movie.
- jevad0
mg - it's the first link that the client picked

fugly, no grid, colors don't match, horrible type, kerning is off throughout, leading is even worse, no heirarchy, no flow, horrible readability, boring, looks worse than a beveled piece of shit...
just kidding
