Cheap graduates win over experienced (exotic?!) designers... At least thats how it looks in this episode...
- shaft0
Didn't you just move to Barcelona? Anyone moving there is like a role model to me.
It's a perfect place to dream of, but does the job market over there really suck?
- Bottlerocket0
Fuck that, people need people that can come into a job and do the business...the're usually the ones with a good dose of reality, based upon years of spirit-crushing clients
- piers0
Well, I know that feeling man. I have 6 years of experience, maybe half of it was spirit crushing the other half was elevating so I guess I am about level.

Piers do you/have you heard of Ben Newall?
- piers0
No, why? Rings a Bell but I have met a alot of Ben's in my time so could just be the name Ben ringing a bell.

"He's a coupla years older and likes snowboarding and jumping of high mountains and riding a bike and being catapulted through fire into a sea of sharks."
Was his discriptin of you, accurate? (he went to school with you)
Anyway good luck with the job hunt.
For the person who asked about motion graphics try: http://www.grapevinejobs.com/

Yea, I guess, apart from the fire and sharks bit?!

I work for some agencies in the US and one in the UK so am not sure about working over here. I started working for this guy and he told me he had 8 other designers working on the project and was going to choose the best one and only pay him. Needless to say I didnt bother doing anymore for that guy. It takes a while for checques to clear from the US though and I am doing nothing more than surviving. Need to make a bit more cash heance the planned move back to the UK. Looking for a job is well depressing though man all the work looks so boring.

If anyone out there can elaborate on this thread, that would be very cool, I am also arriving in London, looking for design work in 3 weeks time. Have been travelling South America for the past 4 months, arrghh! Back to Reality!
cheers.

I got back here 3 weeks ago. Ive had work last week and this week (freelance). Thats what most people seem to do here as it is really good money.but no guarantee you can pay the rent.

In the same boat as you guys.
Looking for motion graphics/directing freelance workLooking for a job is harder work than actually working when you do find a job.
