Got mine lastnight, and very pleased with it. I am a cyclist so it's compact size is exactly what I needed.
The black finish is sweet, but easily shows fingerprints. Slideshow feature of photos is cool.
They sold out of 4 giggers in 5 hours at local apple store which shocked me, but was able to snag one. I have a 10 gig now, and could not seeing going all the way down to a 2 especially since it was 50 bucks more for twice the space.
Overall very pleased and color screen regardless of screensize makes a huge difference again coming from a first gen cargo van ipod.

I already have a small mp3 player, but if I ever decide to get a new one (since mine is a few years old) it'll be an iPod nano, most likely.

Thanks for the report. I was out hunting for one today but to no luck. :(
SUPPLY AND DEMAND APPLE! HELLO?!?
You always have to wait decades before you can get your hands on a new product. Fucking sucks.

did you go to an apple store Jox?
None of the Best Buys or other eltronic stores around me will have them until a week or 2 from now.
If you order online you get engraving for free and you get it in 2 days supposedly.

Steve Jobs could crap in a bag, and as long as he puts the Apple logo on outside I would pay $299 for it.

The ipod nano makes my 20gig feel like a brick, but then again 4 gigs isn't enough for me.
- TheTick0
I currenlty have a bricklike 40 gig player, but man I don't mind carrying the brick if I got 40 gigs with me. I can't go to 5gigs..it just sucks - not enough music for me.

I would like to know when you listen to 40 gigs of music? Do you sit around for 29 days straight jamming every song on it?
I have 18,957 songs currently in my collection. I also have a 10gig ipod that I have 3 gigs of music on and the rest are files (PSD files, websites, even a bootable version of OS X so I can access my home folder from any mac computer).
I see no reason to load it up totally with 40 gigs since there is no way in how I can listen to all that at once anyway.

I'd buy Steve's Job in a bag.

(Sep 9 05, 07:20)Well yeah, I even checked before they opened if they had any in. "Sure, we have plenty, come on down!"
I'm there ten minutes after they opened, 200 people tried to get ahold of 10 Nano's and while I was arguing with the sales guy why they didn't get more, at least 10 guys yelled over my shoulder "Excuse me, do you got any nano's dude?"
I hate Apple people. Everyone but me. They are so fanatic.
