Designing a self-running/looping presentation for a client to be displayed on a plasma screen at a tradeshow.
What dimensions and framerate should I use in Flash for my .fla file? 720 by 540 doesn't seem wide enough. And when this scales up how do I prevent photos from bitmapping out?
thanks,
bB

I was going to say as long as everything is in vector you're fine, but I see you're dealing with photos as well.
I developed a kiosk presentation ages ago, can't remember

depends on the plasma screen actually..
it should be somewhere around 852 x 480
i've designed for some that were around 856 x 482 as well..
16:9 aspect ratio..
ask the client what the resolution is.. or if they don't know.. ask for the specs on the display.. and research the resolution online
frame rate.. keep it around 30-60
sometimes flash has issues with larger res.. but that should really be fine.. just depends on what kind of computer you'll be running it off of..

I did a tradeshow flash loop back in 2000 that displaed on a plasma and I seem to remember that 31fps worked fine.
I forget what resolution I designed for, but I also had photos in mine which only bitmapped a little and was not noticible from the viewing distance of 6+ feet away.

design the presentation at the native resolution.. so that there is no scaling up on your photos

This is something that I deal with all the time. You need to find out not only the screen ration 4:3 version 16:9, but also make sure that the computer outputting the file will be able push the desired resolution.
For instance if the video card can only push out 4:3 ratio, the monitor might stretch the images regardless.

what del_razor said. It also depends on the computer that is pushing this stuff out. I have had experience with creating a native resolution but that is only because the computer and the video card was pretty good. I have even run 640x480 flv files inside an fla shell that was at native resolution. It really all depends on the processor video card etc.
