Hello, i'm adding a news section on my site using iframes, but for some reason, i keep getting vertical scrollbars when i look at it on IE on a PC. I've tried everything including using percentage for the table width, but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone tell me what is wrong? i'm kind of frustrated now.
thanks in advance
piper

i think you meant horizontal and make sure you accomodate for the width of your scroller in what is being drawn into your frame

i have. the width of the iframe is 230 and the width of the news table is 80%.
It works on every browser except for IE. i hate this.

are there still a lot of people using IE? Please say no.

It's fine on explorer on my mac haha.
Not sure why it's not working it probably has to do with you widths though, maybe try not to use percentage.
nice look of the page btw.

check your table/div width in news.html, it should be less than 232.

interesting your width already set to 200 on news.html.
hmmmmmm

first a tip.
because of the standard clusterfuck that is IE I use conditional comments [only 4 IE 'eyes'] to include specific css hacks from an external css file:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/worksh…now for your ie.css hack file:
iframe {
/* prevents borders ie. iframes */
border: none;/* allows iframes background be transparent */
background-color: transparent;
}

thanks guys.
Unfit. should that kill the horizontal scrolling? i can just put that code in my css file or the index.html file?
I wish i can pay someone to do this for me. i hate coding.

i use ie and i see the scrollbar. as someone already said above, try not to use percents. i'm not sure if it will correct the problem but it's a start.
you could also place a transparent gif in the top of the table for your max width, and then place another table inside set to that width if that makes any sense....

it works for me.
and as stated before.
it's a good thing to code for firefox only because of the correct w3c standards.
leave all your ie hacks for a ie-only specific css file that you can include using those conditional comments.
[for ie browser < = v.6]

shit
some of the code disappeared.

check this for correct usage of conditional comments [ 'lte IE 6' seems to be the better choice in your case]:
