the newspaper corp. that I work for owns a paper in NOLA. good people working there.
Anyway, today we had a silent auction at work, that goes until 5pm tomorrow. I donated 2 Billi Holliday portrait screen prints and they were at 70 between the both of them when I left. I hope it can get to 100 by tomorrow end of day.
All proceeds go to the employees of the paper down there. Their office was destroyed.

I cannot say this enough.
You're $5 dollars will be chopped into nothing.
90% or $4.50 of it will go to adminstrative fees and .50 pence to the actual sufferers.
I'm all for donations, but you're so much better off donating actual goods through the Salvation Army which will be delivered to NO. Food, clothes, etc.
Corrupt Non-Profs get under my skin like nothing else. Check the Red Cross' record during 9/11. They were caught red-handed.
