A few shots of the Indycar grand prix at infineon raceway(sears point) known as the toughest road course in the US. Enjoy!

hummm... I guess the title of this thread was more accurate than I thought, JazX is the only race fan?!

well, the IRL/Cart (or whatever they're calling it now) series have not been newsworthy, unfortunately, for like 15 years now. Bad mgt. Could've been a good NASCAR alternative.
I did like the picts. Motorsport fotos must be color unlike recent PBS : http://www.mustafailgun.com/
lame.
The vintage racing series at sonoma is pretty great. I saw it here a few years ago. The old C-class and IMSA prototypes, were the best.

Nice pictures!
What did you think of the racing? I saw Briscoe did his best Montoya imitation into one of the corners.
Sears Point seems a little hilly to be running these cars on, but they used to race at Laguna, though, so I guess they can handle it.

I just got back from the Big Kahuna Suzuki Nationals for AMA Superbike - it was crazy standing 10 feet from bikes going upwards of 180 mph.

I like Formula One / Indy Car / Grand Prix only though

(Aug 29 05, 10:55)I concur. I can't get much into IRL/CART now that the old Indycar series broke up. There actually used to be some pretty good drivers back then.
I'm kind of excited to check out A1GP, though.

Nice! I just happened to come back from some pretty exciting laps around Nürburgring. Now I can't remember why I returned home.

That video of Hans Struk at the Nurburgring at the old track that was posted a while back was pretty intense.
Dude is like 75 and can still drive like a champ.
- jox0
Yep, he does know his way around. Although after spending two hours in the front seat with Sabine Schmidt who drives the ring taxi, not a lot of stuff impresses me anymore. We hit the curbs going 160 mph and all the 4 wheels lifted off the ground. My life flashed before my eyes before we touched the asphalt again doing a 180 degree drift, still in the same speed.
- silentseven0
damn, lucky bastard that had to be fun as hell though
- jox0
It really was. But whenever you're around - you can buy a seat in the taxi for one lap. It's not insanely expensive.

The old 14 mile Nururgring (Nordschleife) was the most amazing track. It's too bad all the new F1 tracks are looking the same, and all the old tracks like Monza are being chopped into a massive chicane.
- jox0
Totally, although i can totally see why they abandoned F1 on Nordschleife - it's so goddamn narrow. People are dying left and right down there.

added a couple more.

probably my favorite as well, should have tried more angles like that.
I was shooting f4, 160 iso at anywhere from 1/1250 to 1/2000th to slow them down. That spot they're doing 140mph at least then up a hill to turn two.
really cool to see. fyi, racefans have some fine wifes/girlfriends. Haven't seen so many hotties in a long time.
