All my thoughts on episode 9: Utica; may contain spoilers:
-----------------------------
AWESOME episode.
I loved that Pullo finally got with the slave girl, but she seemed kind of cold about the whole thing. I guess she feels that she has to do whatever he tells her, and doesn't want to displease him in any way. Otherwise she doesn't have romantic feelings towards him. Maybe? I dunno.
I felt really bad for Servilia. I can't really hate her, even though she got Octavia to do her evil bidding. I can't believe Octavia and Octavian slept together, but, actually, there were many clues about this happening straight from HBO's mouth, so it was predictable.
I'm starting to like Octavian, and I've always liked Octavia. I guess her relationship with Servilia won't last longer, but they seem to still have some affection for each other. I'm guessing she'll be with Antony for more political reasons than anything else.
I'm eager to see what'll happen to Atia and if Caesar will find out what she did to Servilia. I came up with other theories, and Atia seems to be the one who did it. Makes more sense that way. I almost thought Atia would have her killed, but it's probably worse to humiliate her that way. Plus, it's hard to have someone as important as Servilia just killed by Atia. I think not only Caesar, but Brutus would also have something to say about that.
Best line: "You look like laundry" by Pullo, hahaha.
I can't wait until this thing comes out on DVD, which won't take too long, knowing how producers work nowadays. Especially since there are (apparently) only three more episodes until the end of the first season. Makes sense, since most shows only have about 10 episodes for their first season. So maybe, with some luck, it'll be out for the New Year with lots of special features.

yeah, Utica was def. THE MOST JUCIEST so far in the series!
i'm scared for Niobe and feel bad for Vorenus because now the cat is outta the bag concerning the true identity of the babies father -
and poor Pullo - although rough n tough, i think he is reexamining his life a little, seeing how Vorenus has a happy family, and is now serving in public office next to Ceasar!
Jaline, true about the slave girl Pullo rescued, she just didnt seem into it; maybe also because he was mad drunk and reeked of wine, who knows :)
as for Servilia, dam, she got PWNED, and she and eeeeveryone knows who did it - Atia is the queen beotch, and she knows it and loves it -
did any of u guys notice the shock/ suprise on the face of Timons face when his guys violated Servilia? a little out of character huh?
(ok i shut up now )

the shock/ suprise on the face of Timons face
hahaha my bad ;)
- Jaline0
I think he was feeling bad for her, and could possibly be growing sick of Atia's doings. Just a theory. Especially since Atia has been rejecting him a lot lately.

Haha, I'm putting the Rome logo on a hoodie tonight. No joke.
And then, as if to add a cherry on top, I found out that the logo (and possibly the opening credits too) was created by yU+co, the brilliant company that did the opening to Desperate Housewives!

they should show the part where they come to Europe and its people already there, and they told the people, we can help you, and the stupid people believed them and not the one that they already believed in.
then everything went to shit
you know

I'm sure I'm in th minority, but I actually think that Rome's opening animation isn't very good

(Nov 1 05, 09:51)I like it, but I don't think it goes too well with the actual show. It goes a bit long too. But it looks pretty cool. The intro seems like it's for a comedy. That's why the Desperate Housewives one (which is somewhat similar) goes well with that show. Because it's a comedy and the beginning is quite playful.

jaline,
the opening titles are listed in the credits as being done by a52 (http://www.a52.com/)
as far as the dvd is concerned, im not that pumped about it. the reason is that in boston, we have comcast, which has the best onDemand thing going on. so, for Rome, you can watch every episode, with or without directors comments and they have all the little extras too. so, i dont know how the dvd can really do any better.
- JazX0
the slave girl isn't into it, because she's been taught not to be into it. she's a slave guys
- Jaline0
Thanks for the info Matty. I guess it was just the logo and some other promotional stuff then.
