I know, I know... the best for html programming is BBEdit, but for a "ten-thumbs" like me these just work fine.
Now here is the question:
I am ready to upgrade either Dreamweaver 8 or GoLive CS2, I've been using Dreamweaver but with Adobe taking over Macromedia I was wondering if I should just drop it and jump to GoLive?... the new features od Dwr look awesomeThanks guys, any advide is appreciated.

If you even fire GoLive up I will stab you in the head with a fork

whomever said BBEdit was the best for editing HTML?
does BBEdit incorporate Source and Versioning control?
I go with IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer. Blows away the competition for large websites.

i hear good things are happening with frontpage these days.

GoLive sucks...i kid you not. Dreamweaver is the way to go.

did someone say notepad?

how much of what you do is in websphere, jazx?
i've done a decent amount of dominoe work and am not too thrilled with that environment. websphere any better?

when i say 'work' i mean design work, not db stuff.

So far I am cracking up with your comments. I really like Dreamweaver and I got year ago GoLive 4.0... so considering i was going to upgrade my Photoshop I wonder if I should buy the Creative Suite... which would leave my Dreamweaver buy out of place (too much $).
So Dreamweaver so far?

i'm gonna start a new job at macromedia and i got to ask bunch of questions about the merger.
they are still unclear whether dreamweaver get dropped or not.i'd say it's 50-50 risk.

with above having been said, if dreamweaver gets dropped out, there will still be a support.
or they might come out with something that's a combination of dreamweaver/goLive.
in any case, my opinion is to go for dreamweaver - better product in my humble opinion.

congrats on the new job, graf.

(Aug 25 05, 10:43)HA! Really? 99% of it is done in WebSphere and it connects in with IBM Rational ClearCase, which we are upgrading to IBM Harvest, both for Suorce Control and Versioning. A very nice environment to work in actually. I do use IBM Domino Lotus Notes to publish Intranet documents as well. Very process oriented, Dev -> QA -> Prod.

(Aug 25 05, 10:44)Ohhh no way, it's horrible for design work. However, once you get your template set up, you are golden!

congrats graf.

i actually build the template in DW, then, when approved, i start fighting with Dominoe Designer.
i ask because i have a few websphere project coming up. i didn't think it was going to be nice.

of course, at least now i have a resource if i get stuck! :D
