I'm on a product design placement, and I'm working on a website (yes i did say product) that will constist of static pages, however for ease I need to implement a cms, to allow the client to add pages without touching dreamweaver. My only experience is with Wordpress, so I was thinking of hacking that up, but does any one have any ideas? Is this a bad solution?

Why don't you just do proper research? Isn't that why you're paid?
Go to google, start looking at what CMS solutions exist, what features they have, list the negatives and positives of each, compare the width and depth of features. Outline your needs for a CMS and the features you want. Do a Use-Case and then start building.
I shouldn't even be telling you this.

Maybe a bit to advanced, but take a look!

I've been using Mambo, but there has been some major internal conflicts there so I'd wait for half a year to a year for them to settle down.

Yes I am getting paid, and I have done plenty research, I just value the opinion of the people on the PVN as a lot of you know a lot more than me! There's no point running myself into the ground if someone could point something out I hadn't considered!

thanks dc domain, i had heard that here had been a split within mambo, and that future updates could be an issue!

I recently set up Serendipity which is really easy to set up and use.
http://www.s9y.org/Mambo is nice also, although it is very extensive and does more than most people need it to.
http://mamboserver.com/Simple PHP Blog is really good because it doesn't use a database, just writes to a php file, so this is a really easy to work with if you're working on a fairly small scale.
