//Canada should give Nova Scotia to us in the U.S. ...maybe New Brunswick too.
We'd really like it.

Anyway,
Polls are silly.
Sometimes even science is silly, and people should reflect on the impact of silly news in their lives and wants. Most news are not reliable and certainly do not come from impartial observations...
And I quote:
"Aristotle maintained that women have fewer teeth than men; although he was twice married, it never occurred to him to verify this statement by examining his wives' mouths.
Bertrand Russel "The Impact of Science on Society", 1952.

I'd hate to see any province or territory in Canada separate, but living in Montreal I do realize that the lifestyle and atmosphere is different than what I've experienced elsewhere.
It's not that I don't feel "Canadian" here, its that I feel kinda foreign.

----------------------------you can say the same about every city and province in Canada, that's what makes this country so cool, we're a cultural mosaic.

Thank you brains.. You truly understand our cause and I really appreciate hearing that come from a canadian.
You restored my faith in the canadian people.

alberta is more "american" than ontario.
the "problem" with canada is that it is so huge and has so many different cultures and etc. it makes it incredibly hard to govern such a large and diverse coutnry. logically, it would make more sense to split up it up into numerous countries ( BC, Prairies, Ontario, Québec and Maritimes) But then that wouldn't be Canada and it would lose one of its biggest charms. Historically speaking, the reason Canada exists was to fight back the American threat. i find that comical since we are not its closest ally. (well sorta)
on a side note...i learned today that i am legally a quebecer.
- Fanco0
my bad. i ment : "we are NOW its closest ally"
bad typo.
- _niko0
what cause? get your head out of your ass.
this country is made up of hundreds of "distinct" cultures. Should everyone have their own country?
- Fanco0
huh... wtf. did you read what i said?
geographically and logically canada should really be like 5 different countries. but its not. thats why its hard to govern canada. the provinces bitch because they dont have enough independance from the federal government.
how is does understanding this make me ignorant enough to put my head up my ass?

I believe he was addressing non's post.
but he's still way out of line. Quebec has never been recognized as it's own individual culture. Not only does the federal government ignore it's requests for certain provincial changes, they've actually come close to appeasing them MULTIPLE times, and then end up fucking them over.
Quebec doesn't want to be assimilated into the rest of canada. Over the years they've watched their language slowly die as english culture infiltrates their province.
It's sad really, how over time, it seems like the entire world is slowly losing their distinct culture(s). We are just going to become a massive clump of "western" culture.
