brazilian jujitsu is still a very important martial art within UFC and mixed martial arts. the majority of fighters skilled on ground technics are trained in BJJ but you are right that through the years other skilled have been adapted by the fighters making it a more true mixed martial arts sport.

Cool. They could do the same to me too! I'm in terrible shape.

I really like the refreshing line of thought that training to fight can have when you take that mindset and apply it to other arts - even the visual medium.
Training to fight is all about fundamentals, working within your limitations and being creative in them and taking chances and keep on simplifying something. Complication doesn't work to your advantage...it's great to get that into your head and take it into another artistic medium...

If I were in the UFC, I would build my secret move around manipulation of the funny bone.

(Aug 9 05, 12:52)"an arm bar can manipulate your funny bone pretty brutally. usually people will tap out way before that happens unless you're Forest Griffin. Some dude put him in an arm bar and dislocated his elbow. While his elbow was dislocated he broke out of the hold got up and knocked the guy out winning the fight. You don't want to mess with that guy...

I'm moving at the end of the month, and it sucks that I've determined I can't afford cable anymore. Going to miss the show bigtime.
