classic italian tomato sauce + penne:
penne pasta + a can of chopped tomato, tomato paste, garlic, origanum, olive oil and one whole carrot in a saucepan on low for 30-45 min. the longer and slower you let it simmer the richer it gets. the carrot is for taste, remove it afterwards. serve sauce over penne, or sear chicken breasts in a pan and serve with sauce over penne.

I love NT cooking threads. I made catfish and cinnamon sweet potatoes in knob creek bourbon on the grill.
we also did some italian beef in a slow cooker and used lebanese flatbread (almost like a tortilla) to serve that in.
god I drank so much whiskey this weekend if it werent for all of the food, Id have bit the dust for sure.

Pasta with olive oil, garlic and chilli
Serves two
This dish is both classic and simple, which makes it a great choice when inviting a few friends over for a meal. Better yet, it takes only minutes to prepare and is easy on your budget.
You will need:
225g (8 oz) fresh or dried pasta
5 tablespoons olive oil
2 large garlic cloves, peeled and finely chopped
1 large red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
Sprig of fresh parsley
Salt and fresh ground black pepper to tasteFirstly, wash your hands with warm, soapy water and put on a clean apron.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil making sure the handle of the pot isn’t over the edge of the cooker or other rings. Add a dash of salt and slowly add the pasta to the water. Stir occasionally to prevent them from sticking together. Follow the instructions on the pasta packet for cooking time, then strain and pour into a serving bowl. Stir in a tablespoon of olive oil to prevent pasta from sticking.
Heat the olive oil in a small frying pan and add the garlic, chilli and black pepper. Cook at moderately high heat for about two minutes to infuse the flavours into the oil. If oil spills onto the hob, be sure to wipe it up as soon as the surface is cool. Mix into the pasta, garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Try serving with a fresh side salad.

how to boil an egg:
*seriously i just learned to boil an egg perfectly this is the way
bring a pot of water to a boil .. turn the heat off .. place the eggs in and let sit covered for 14 minutes
if your eggs have a greenish grey outer coating on the yolk that means they are overcooked ... that won't happen with this process
i boil a dozen on sunday and grab some in the mornings because i'm super lazy about breakfast
plus it's like easter all the time : D
