Just released that raffy tested positive for a potent steroid called stanozonol. Otherwise known as Winstrol. (the same thing the guy from the Olympics a few years back got busted for).
Which is a good thing. There is/was a product called 1-AD that you could get over the counter that once taken, would produce trace amounts of Winstrol in your system.
I think Raffy didn't do it. At least I hope he didn't.

I read in the paper this morning that there's no way the same ingredients in that steroid would have been in a supplement.
His story is that he took a supplement and didn't know it was in there.
"It is not available in over-the-counter supplements and is known as a powerful strength-builder, casting doubt on Palmeiro's claims that he ingested the drug unwittingly."

The chemist for 1-AD said 'once ingested in the body the chemicals within your body, and the chemicals in the product combine and form chains of the steroid'
Not really sure if it's true or not but the chemist said it.

BS, it's still an attempt at gaining an edge over your opponent and he deserves the suspension and even more.

I agree with Frank Robinson. These guys cheat. There are no other excuses. They cheat. As a lifelong Red Sox fan, this makes me very angry, since another cheater's (Giambi, at least he stood up and took his meds) HR's were the difference in the Red Sox WS hopes in '03. That goes to show that these CHEATERS are cheating and that it makes a difference on the field and the outcome of games.
