I think a sampler hooked up to an Octapad would be a good thing, especially if you can sort you samples/mixes on pro tools or something.

thats why i suggested ableton.
fxs, sampling, editing, remixing, and "dj-ing"
all you need to do is spend $ on a mixer with midi.
