Could anyone suggest the best way to push the resolution of an image taken with a Nikon D70 up so it can be printed in large formats?
Or, could anyone tell me what software they use to extract the images from their RAW state?
I thank you.

photohsop will import/edit raw images that you can resave to print

do you mean to make physical prints yourself, or for reproduction in a publication?

that depends on how large you want to print the shot.
The D70 will likely max out at 16*20, but that's only if you've really really nailed the exposure.
Need more info about what you're trying to do and why you're having issues doing it.

got a D70 Question, but since I joined the NT Thread Recycle Program I figured I would use this
so here it goes!
D70 or D50?

they're very very similar cameras.
Seems that the major difference is in
A. The body type. It doesn't state what material the body is made of but since the d70 is heavier I'm assuming it's magnesium whereas the d50 would be plastic. Doesn't really make that much of a difference really.
B. The max FPS. On the d50 it's 2.5 on the d70 it's 3. Again, no much difference but you would notice that if you shot a lot of action (e.g. skateboarding)
C. The max shutter speed. On the d50 it's 1/4000 on the d70 it's 1/8000. Again, not anything you'd notice unless you shot a lot of action (and had a shitload of light at that)
D. The LCD size. Slightly bigger on the d70.
Otherwise I didn't notice any other differences that would make it a major decision. For the extra 200 bucks I would probably choose the d70 for the metal body over the plastic but really that's not a big deal because you shouldn't be dropping your camera anyway.

Had a D70 for a few months now, it's awsome, love it. I does not however have a metal body. Sorry guys.

you have to push the resolution up in photoshop in smal amounts, ie if you want to increase the resolution by 70%, you'd better do 7 repetitions of +10%
if you go straight by 70%, you'll have worse results.
