depends on who your target audience is.

according to the brief...
TARGET MARKET
• Your target market consists of males and females, aged from 16 to 35.
• But as the range will be priced alongside many expensive brands, you need to be aware that your most likely purchaser will be one who earns a decent salary.

so upscale young urban professional blabla. there's a contradiction in that brief. 16 - 35 doesn't match the second point, it would be more like 25-35. anyways, expensive, young urban blabla, none of those logos would work, too young, too cheap.

although, you might want to redo #1, make it more expensive, make more of a logo and balance it more (the trident is too slammed in there). then seals and trident is very ungreenpeace.
- spongebob0
whoa... plain english please. what's "very ungreenpeace"?
- anon0
ungreenpeace = un-pc. seals, trident, killing seals for fur etc. etc. people might make that link and be turned off about it. just a thought.

#1 Looks like sea equipment logo
(like Mares or CressiSub)#4 the gradient, done in that way, don't tell anything.
#2 Is a bit flat, not so right for sunglasses
#3 the one i like, but need some work.
Youn need a graphical element that is strong and immediate, like the "O" of the o'neill brand.
- anon0
you forgot that it doesn't fit the brief fariska.
- spongebob0
the trident was inspired by the Navy Seals logo actually... in the brief the owner was from the Navy, so I thought to use Navy Seals in a sense.
Looks like I have to start over.
- anon0
forget the owner, the owner is not your target audience, he might like it but that's besides the point.
basically you want it to look expensive and that it has to appeal to yuppies.
- Fariska0
mmmm, maybe not too young as the o'neill image, but i'm still convinced that he need a strong graphical element to work correctly (for ex: E|A, Diesel, Chanel, YSL)
- anon0
did you research the competition? did you research similar brands or brands that focus on the same target audience? if not, i'd suggest doing that first.
- anon0
yeah fariska, that ofcourse is a concept which could work as a basic idea, true, it's more about what is shown and none of those are fitting.
- spongebob0
man I HATE the YSL logo. hahaha
okay... time to hit the books.
thanks anon & Fariska.
any more comments from other folks as well? Like to hear more voices.
- anon0
you've spoken to multiple voices in my head already. does that count?

#2 reminds me of oakley (and that's bad I guess).
#3 is the most appealing to me at a quick glance.

Give more power...
To make the letters to come out.
Try an other color or a strong color combination.
I like the oval main shape...
