it was a bit sexist. I don't even think anyone mentioned anything about her not needing to work so a man can take care of her.
I think someone is a radical feminist. no need to feel hostile!

i never really thought of myself as a radical femmie.
I'm no bra burner, but i do think women need to build their own little fortune, without the idea that they're going to have the support of a man... or that they're going to stick around. all of the sudden, the power has shifted in our favour, when men don't have control over the relationship with money and security.
it makes for healthier living.
I was actually thinking about writing an essay about women who work through their 20's. Recently, I've met more than a handful of women who make it their goal, to work as hard and as much as possible, just to see where they can go. I'd say, its an obsession just as ridiculous as living in the gym, obsessing about a sport, or having "that that" you do to pass the time. Now, a lot of women fill that with career. If anything to obsess about, I don't think its a bad thing. But, it does come with it's drawbacks, as does everything.

fanks.
You'd be surprised. I don't know... in LA (and I imagine New York) there are SOOO many women around like that.
With one of my very sucessful friends (I'm totally jealous of her life, it's out of control), she's having a problem with the fact that she has built up such a life for her, it would be hard to fit a man in it at this point, without feeling like she might actually be the one being taken advantage of. Now, those tables being turned is an interesting one for our gender.
A very amazing co worker of mine told me once "You always have to fuck up, not down."
It's an interesting concept for sucessful women. hmmm... something to ponder. It might actually put the fire under some of you men. The good pickens are fucking up. Where are you at?

i know some women who are really successful. my friend, well, she was my old boss, is an established artist, great creative directors, sophisticated, smart... she's def having a hard time with men.
right now, i am having time meeting or dating women who are as driven as i am. i don't wanna overwhelm them by my ambitions. it's funny how many of them think i got to where i am really easy.

random thoughts btw. I'm not standing by any of this. But, BTW kStyle.. rock it hard girl. When age catches up to you, don't be caught with your panties down.
My mentors all worked while they were our age, constantly. They all have beautiful lives now. I don't see any burn outtage.
But, I also see my male counterparts doing the same thing. Some people are okay to settle with doing just enough. Others take it to the next level. Before my very eyes, I'm watching the constant 18 hour days day after day, month after month, year after year pay off to a big big time career. He obviously deserves it, but putting in the time is essential.
He did:
- Tons of work
- Tons of freelance
- Tons of personal work
- Tons of magazine spreads
- He's been published here there and everywhere. It's a recipe for success, no? It's the difference between being "popular" in our little community and making the kinda dough that would make jLo cry.

whoops i missed a sensence there. i was talking about one of my dood friends that works insane hours.. but its paying off.
i dont know why its ok and people praise him for doing that... but if a girl decides to go that route, they look at us funny?
