2) if you get turned down it's not the end of the world. don't sweat it. if you're worried about your friends busting your balls for getting shot down you can always fire back 'hey, at least i had the balls to talk to her'
3) admire from afar at first. find something you can talk about. if she is wearing a nice dress walk buy and 'happen' to notice how well she looks in it, then say sorry if i embarrased you but you really do look fantastic. then walk away. there is a good chance she'll stop you before you go.

if your social network is slow, maybe try a different bar. it's all an equation. go to bar z, to start off the night by yourself. have a few drinks, maybe spark conversation with girl x, then mention you are going to bar c, ask if she wants to come, if yes then you can meet friends at bar c, which may lead to bedroom xxx?
