Dinky, I meant that the artwork that I appreciate is stuff that says something, that is a reaction to a social climate, anything meaningful, anything that goes beyond the surface.
This does not penetrate the surface.

ff - I agree with a lot of what you are saying. thing is, to me the art work is ambient, and not really meant to be picked apart that much. as a whole it works, if you saw this from 10-20 feet away, it would look like someone shat the universe, but as a flash of style in a magazine or advertisment, which acts as the communication to maybe then compliment another message... it's interesting that it does rise this a lot of debate.

Like I said, I don't pretend to know a lot about art, but the stuff I've had the most joy discovering/reading about has been the major movements of this past century; Cubism, Dadaism, Russian Constructivism, Suprematism, Futurism, Modernism, Post-Modernism...
These movements were reactions to real things, and real thought was put into them.

like i have told u, you seem to be very well educated in this matter. i would like to get to know you more. get your opinion on others.
as i have pointed out, a jr designer may have great eye but they will not have the expertise of a senior. i am not saying i know any more than you, maybe less. but in this world, creditbility does matter.
i hope to learn about your opinion and your thought process.

ok. i left work, and this thread was going alright again. now what happened.
this is not artwork where you say, oooh, this looks like he made it in a sad part inhis life or whatever. but it can be said that it makes you feel one way or another, happy i would think because of bright colors and vivid images. whatever settle down.

Credibility matters sometimes.
But in an open forum such as this, I believe it comes 2nd to what it is the person is trying to say.
Which is why I don't believe that I need to have my work up to give credibility to my arguments, so long as I am being fair and justifying my points.
