would I be paranoid or prepared?

In the event of another terrorist bomb attack or crash/accident on public transport, I am concerned about immediate evacuation and have been toying with the idea of equipping myself with a safety hammer to enable me to break out quickly if I'm not near an exit (http://www.lifeaxe.com).
Am i being paranoid or prepared? Am I going too far? I already ordered glow-sticks for non-spark illumination and have a small first-aid pack with me. I was a boy scout as a kid and always try to be prepared, but am I going too far? Have I gone nuts? HUH?!? HUH??

you're seriously overreacting.
i'd seriously suggest watching this documentary to calm down:

why not go the whole hog and get yourself some prosthetic limbs just in case?

Well, it's not just the terrorist threat, because the state of the UK's railways are also almost just as scary.

you'd probably be arrested for carrying an axe!
power of nightmares is a great documentary but i dunno whehter it will make him feel less paranoid.

well rasko4, if you go that far you might as well just kill yourself as a precaution.

it's not actually an axe, the link again:

i'd have to say paranoid, hon. it'll just be an extra weight that you carry around reminding you of your fears. nobody needs that.

that's it then, I'm going to blow myself up on the tube on the way home. Get it over and done with, like.

it will vespa, once you realize this big organized thing doesn't excist and the ones who do it are just madmen, in other words, you might as well get stabbed by some maniac. same chance. how many people got killed in london till now (traffic, robbery etc) versus the bombing?
- anon0
honest, if the subway system's quality is what you worry about you might as well stay at home for the rest of your life, oh, then again, your home is not safe either, maybe you but your neighbour might forget to put out a candle.

Yes you are paranoid.
There are 7 million people in London and 53 died in that attack. You have a better chance of being hit by a bus than being blown up in one.
I suggest you just stay at home and have the electric and gas cut off. I would also have the building incased in lead because this blocks radiation and you'll live slightly longer...

i've seen them all. i know they are madmen. it doesn't make me feel better.

well vespa, i always had this idea there's this big organization out there who wants to destroy the entire western world right? after seeing that doc i realized that that big organization doesn't excist at all, it never excisted.
so basically it's just random, so random that as said before getting hit by bus is more likely to happen.
what's happening in the media and on governmental level is just management by fear, regaining control by spreading fear (fear which doesn't excist). so i felt more comfortable knowing that.
i do read the news differently now. like those so called busted sleeper cells in the states, that all cases are lost by the us and all of them are innocent (yet that wasn't mentioned in the media) while bush was proud annoucing they got some bad guys (who were just some kids).

The US Government is founded on a bed of it's past lies. The really worrying part is that they forgot they created them.

this is good, I'm starting to see sense of my madness. I guess I should just be more confident and less fearful. Bombs go off almost everyday in the middle east, but the people there still carry on their lives. I shall do the same.
