I lived in hawaii(maui) and after a year I needed real culture Vs. lassen's rendering of the underwater world and photos of native women washing in the sea.
lived in san diego for two years and needed some forests, seasonal weather change and culture(close to LA but far away mentally) other than beach/skate/surf.
