jevad, living in san diego is like living on the cusp of something big. the city is young, vibrant, and ready to grow into something wonderful. thats why i'm here (aside from the surf). places like new york and san fran are well established in our field. anyone can go there and get a decent job as a designer. sd is different. the market is way smaller, and more competitive in a lot of ways. but theres more opportunities to get into places just starting out, therefore putting yourself in a better position to acheive more then you would in a bigger, more established city. i'm heading off to bed, but email me if you want some more in depth info and some contacts to start with.

i dont know anybody whos been happy in seattle for long. I had a bunch of friends (about 10 of them) move there at the same time after college. All of them have moved back to southern california or moved somewhere that is the polar opposite of seattle.
all of them complained about the weather, finding jobs, etc.

been all of those places you listed except for Virginia. I would have to say San Diego. Just a beautiful place to live. Every time I go I don't want to leave.
*also confused about wifey situation

hey jevad
so glad you and your wife are back together!
like someone else mentioned, i'm sure you'll get work wherever you go.
it must seem like a big ask after what's happened. at least it will show how much you care about her. but make sure you find a reason to do it for yourself too or else you'll end up fighting about it later.

are you sure you are able to disclose that information that your wife works and will work at FBI?
i think there is a department policy against that.
i know for CIA or NSA, you are not even allowed to mention that you have applied for any position.

nyc, but hawaii, would be awsome, but i personally would feel landlocked after a year or so.
