I do things with my left-hand as well (more usage than a fully right-handed person would have), but I'm still right-handed.
My bruhda is left-handed though, and my grandparents have this thing against him, because my parents don't make him use his right hand more often. Old-fashioned. Anyway, he does a lot of stuff with his right hand because we don't accomodate everything according to his needs. For instance, we don't change where the lights are in a room or what sort of computer mouse we buy just for him. We usually overlook it.

just curious... i read that lefties tend to experience difficulties in everyday life, because most 'tools' are designed for righties.
i personally have gotten along fine. just wanted to find out if there are lefties that really do have these problems.

Like Fender Jaguars, they made em lefty but I'm no rich man. :D

It's funny too - I write with my left hand, but my fret hand is my right hand. So obviously I'm very detailed with my right hand, but couldn't ever write with it.

me! Cant easily use a righty drum kit without changing set up. Rightie drummers don't really care for such a thing.

I can dribble a hoop rock and throw upper-hand hooks, jabs and haymakers with my left hand. That's about it. Ohh yeah and one more thing, I shouldn't say this here though.

mg, can you play a righty guitar? I play wee bit of bass and am surprised that my fret hand is so competent yet if I try to turn it around it feels so awkward!

Playing my guitar with my left hand would be extremely weird. I play piano too, and my right hand is still better.

I just write/draw with the left, but as for everything else... right handed. I don't feel like I'm disadvantaged to right-handed people, although scissors are often a bitch to use.

Here's the thing about guitars:
Playing LH is NO DIFFERENT than RH. It's the same thing in essence, just reversed.
I can play right handed guitars left handed within reason. bar chords are easy (although I never play bar chords, they all sound too happy).
It's also very enjoyable to play a righty backwards because it changes the direction of strumming and picking. I've written some cool stuff that way and often want a cheap right handed to play like that.

just thought of something: i can't demo any of the drumkits at guitar center b/c they're all for righties!!! i have to find a kit with a double bass pedal and play open with my arms and cross my legs. those bastards.
