I had a friend who is now sober for 5 years.
The only thing that got him to quit was his girlfriend beating his ass in front of all his friends, and then him gettign thrown into jail, then a halfwayhouse, then probation with daily breathalizers.
To this day he thanks her and the city for putting him behind bars. He didn't have the self-control. When it's aserious addiction you need help.

i can see where anzelina is coming from. it is all situational. i knew that this dude only hung out with us so it was easy just to do it our way. plus he was just being a douchebag, i dont think he had a real reason to get so fucking hammered and be a total ass so it wasnt like ostracising him would drive him over the deep end.
you say she has certain shit going on, then take her out for a coffeee and explain it. just be like 'look, im not your mom, but people are fucking fed up with your drinking and your behvaior while you drink'.

kOna got it right. If you really care about this person - you can either A. remove yourself emotionally and say "that's just nickky", which will enable her to continue behaving that way. or B. Take a stand and Say "I really am worried about you, but if you continue this way, I cant be around you - I am willing to help you if you want me to. - and just dont be around this person, you will find out pretty quick who this person really is.
I think it is nick.

just make sure the person recognises that your intentions come from a caring place, not a condescending or negative one.

I love it when they say 'the only thing in the world that makes me happy is alcohol', and then say they don't have a problem.
