i'm supposed to be moving but i'm hungover. the triple espresso i had did nothing, so i'm going to finish my turkey sandwhich, dive into a new novel in the backyard, sip some two buck chuck in about an hour, bug the flauta down the street to let me take her out for sushi tonight, and push this beatnik thing i'm cultivating to the next level of excess, all to avoid going through paperwork and boxes that ultimately will be meaningless in a few years...

left work early yesterday. wife and i drove to a section of the applachian trail and took a short hike up to the top of "max patch" ( http://tinyurl.com/bngga ) came back down and went to a cafe for wine, beer and calamari. Back to asheville for another beer/wine downtown. Take out pizza for home.
woke up around 11... coffee and cigs. Nice walk to a little sandwich shop for lunch. Walk to gourmet kitchen store and bought a french press. Walk to ice cream shop for treat.
Getting ready to take a shower and maybe a little nap then heading downtown for a gallery opening.
i love weekends like this.

the photo is on a section of route 30 in western pa known as the lincoln highway.
apparently there are four painted up like that. i'd heard about it, but hadn't realized how cool they were until i saw this one.
